Mica band heaters

Mica band heaters are widely used industrial heating elements for cylindrical surfaces such as extruder barrels, heads, and tanks. They consist of resistance wire or ribbon wound on mica insulation and enclosed in a stainless‑steel shell. The construction combines good heat transfer with a simple, durable design – ideal for mid‑temperature operation.

Temperature sensor options:

  • Thermocouple type J (up to 650°C)
  • Thermocouple type K (up to 1000°C)

The specified temperature refers to the sensor’s maximum operating temperature, not the heater.

Additional option: An aluminum heat sink can be used with mica bands to operate in combined heat/cool sections.
